Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do you treat diseases?

No, we do not treat disease. We try to bring patients into a state of balance or homeostasis.

2. How are enzymes replaced in the diet?

The food industry is careful to replace vitamins and minerals lost in the processing of foods, but does not replace the more important food enzymes. Unless supplemental food enzymes are taken, our diets continue to be deficient in these essential nutrients.

Food enzymes have PH levels from an acid 3.0 to an alkaline 9.0. They are able to predigest food in the stomach before they are activated. 60% of starch, 30% of protein and 10% of fat are digested in the upper stomach while the bottom portion of the stomach produces the acid needed to stimulate the rest of the digestive process. Most of the population with graying hair are unable to do this process at all, and those of you who are taking antacids are eliminating the possibility of digesting proteins and use of calcium. Calcium cannot be digested and used without acid. Sometimes doctors will recommend animal enzymes - these work
only in a PH of 7.2 to 9.0 in the duodenum (the first part of the small intestine); they do not function in the stomach at all.

3. What are the basic enzymes needed?

Protease
•Meat (before cooked), Eggs, Milk & Natural Cheese
•Soy, Wheat, Barley, Wild Rice & Peanuts
   •Immune Functions address:
      Blood Clots
Chronic Pancreatisis (inflammation of the pancreas)
      Pancreatic Cancer
      Malabsorption Abnormalities
      Myocardial Infarction
      Cholesterol & Triglycerides

Lipase
•Avocado, Olives, Nuts, Seeds, Bananas, Cherries, Figs & Grapes
•Hydrolyzes Fats - Monoglycose and Fatty Acids
Amylases
   •Grains, Fruits, Complex Carbohydrates
•Digestion begins in the mouth, salivary glands secrete
•Pancreas also secretes into the small intestine
•The cellulose layer of veggies is stripped off then the salivary and pancreatic amylase digest starch into simple sugars which then turn into glucose.
Cellulase
•Veggies, Grains, Wheat Millet, Apples, Papaya, Pears & some Melons
•Cleans bowel, assists in fat metabolism, digests fungi and yeast
